How we score
Every shop and brand on Cannactually gets a score out of 10. Partners and non-partners are scored the same way. We only list shops and brands we consider worth buying from, so our scale runs from 7 to 10: 7 means acceptable with clear weak points, 8 good, 9 and above excellent.

Research-based and tested scores
Every score shows how we reached it.
- Tested by us: we ordered from the shop, checked the lab reports against what arrived, and rated delivery and service ourselves.
- Research-based score: we have not ordered yet. The score comes from public evidence: published lab reports and company details (30%), customer reviews and reputation (30%), shipping coverage, delivery and returns policies (20%), and price against comparable shops (20%). Product quality is not scored until we test. Amsterdam coffeeshops are scored on menu quality and reputation (40%), atmosphere and service (30%), price (15%) and location (15%), from public reviews until we visit.
We move shops from research-based to tested as we order from them, and we re-check every score at least once a year or when a shop changes its range or policies.
Partners and paid placements
Some brands pay for a partner badge, a featured spot or a sponsored article. That never changes a score. Paid content is labelled “Sponsored” and paid links carry rel="sponsored".
